Public Art
The City of Lancaster administers the Public Art Program which includes the following:
- Providing oversight for the inclusion of public artworks in eligible Capital Improvement Program projects and Redevelopment projects;
- Providing technical assistance for developers and reviewing proposed plans for artworks;
- Advising on the acquisition, placement, maintenance, or removal of public artworks on City-owned property;
- Administering the City's art collection;
- Developing public art policies;
- Providing technical assistance for artists;
- Administering competitions for the selection of artists;
- Providing public art planning, education and outreach.

The Department of Public Art for Lancaster, Pennsylvania is seeking requests for design proposals (RFP) for a mural located within the Lancaster Authority Parking Garage at the corner of Prince and Orange Street, Lancaster Pennsylvania. This location is located at the heart of the cultural district. We are seeking a design that reflects the vibrancy and creative energy of the neighborhood. Two potential locations for the mural have been sited within the structure, one on the entrance way from Orange Street, and the other on the entrance way from Queen Street. The Lancaster Parking Authority will provide a protective sealant over the finished painted design. Please submit design ideas, portfolio, links to websites and questions with (Prince Street parking) in the subject line to, publicart@citylancasterpa.com. Budget for this project is $2,400.00.
Deadline for submission 06/20/11. Project completion date 08/31/11.
